Traffic Management is a method for intelligently managing load in a network. When websites or applications become popular and millions of users using the product, back-end networks are becoming inundated with IP traffic. Load Balancers and applications will typically distribute the traffic in an algorithmic way to ensure that the system doesn’t fail and can handle all of the traffic. Traffic management can be employed by using hardware like a load balancer, or implementing routing algorithms in application code so that a system can scale efficiently.
