Gary Cottrell

Chief Customer Officer

Gary is an accomplished technology executive with over 25 years of product experience in the SaaS sector across product management, marketing, and strategy.

Previously, Gary served as the SVP of Product Management at Stats Perform, where he led product management, partnerships, and product strategy while working with advanced data collection methodologies. He has also held executive positions at Xactly Corporation, a SaaS and Sales Performance Management software pioneer, where he supported building a data intelligence offering and implemented a new end-to-end product vision and roadmapping process. When Vista Equity took Xactly private, Gary helped rebuild the product management organization and overall product strategy while supporting the subsequent acquisition and integration of four additional companies.

Kate Scolnick

Chief Financial Officer

Kate Scolnick is a value-driven financial and corporate governance leader. She has served as a trusted advisor to many senior executives and boards, helping them strategize successful paths forward.

Scolnick joined the HG Insights team after serving as CFO of Owlet, Inc., where she played a pivotal role helping prepare the digital health company through a successful initial public offering, while establishing a public-company operating and reporting cadence, and partnering across the enterprise on financial strategy. As Owlet’s CFO, she reduced annual operating expenses by 50% and accelerated the cash conversion cycle from nearly six months to just one week.

Before Owlet, Scolnick served as Vice President of Finance at Anaplan, a leading provider of enterprise cloud software, where she led financial planning and analysis, global sales finance, and global procurement.

From 2012 to 2019, Scolnick held roles as Senior Vice President of Finance and Treasurer at Seagate Technology LLC, and later as Acting Chief Financial Officer. As SVP of Finance and Treasurer, she repositioned a $2 billion balance sheet to elevate agency ratings to investment-grade levels, while fueling a 55%+ stock price appreciation. As Acting CFO, she controlled financial operations covering a $10 billion profit and loss, managed a team of nine senior-level direct reports and a broader team of 600 staff.

Earlier in her career, Scolnick played key finance and investor relationships roles at McAfee and Intel on both sides of their $8 billion merger and acquisition deal.

She also has extensive experience serving as a board and committee member providing broad direction and oversight. Her experience includes roles as a board observer at Ripple Labs; an audit committee and board member at eASIC Corporation (through its acquisition by Intel); a member of the National Investor Relations Institute’s Silicon Valley Chapter; and audit and finance committee member for the town of Atherton, CA.

Scott Smyth

EVP of Sales and Partnerships

Scott has over sixteen years of experience in a range of commercial leadership roles. He has worked closely with market-leading technology providers to help them achieve exponential growth.

Scott previously led teams at Datamonitor and Ovum before taking the commercial lead at GlobalData (DATA). More recently, Scott cofounded the data SaaS company Pivotal iQ, which was named the Great British Scaleup by Tech Market View before being acquired by HG Insights in 2018.

Scott is passionate about providing deep insights to global technology vendors via high-quality research and in his current leadership role he is dedicated to ensuring that HG remains the leading GTM intelligence provider.

Satish Grandhi

Chief Technology Officer

Satishi Grandhi is a seasoned technologist with over 20 years of experience as an Architect and Distinguished Engineer. He has strong domain knowledge in Data/Information Management, Data Governance, Data Center, Multi/Hybrid Cloud, Virtualization, L4-L7 Network Services, Packet Core, and Networking technologies — with 15+ patents pending.

He is a strong hands-on Cloud, Microservices, and Cloud-Native Application architect with a deep level of understanding of cloud, virtualization, and container technologies like OpenStack (KVM), VMware vSphere (ESXi), AWS, Azure, GCE, Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker, and LXC, as well as SQL and NoSQL technologies.

Satishi is well-versed in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies and the application of Scrum across geographically distributed and cross-functional and cross-business unit Scrum teams. He innovates and rapidly develops new prototypes to prove new concepts and techniques.

Proficient in multiple programming languages — Python, Java, C, and C++ — Satishi Grandhi continues to drive technological excellence.

Vibhu Pratap

Chief Development Officer

Vibhu Pratap is a seasoned technology executive with over 25 years of experience in software engineering, cloud technologies, and product development across the SaaS and enterprise sectors.

Recently, Pratap served as Group Vice President of Engineering at SolarWinds Corporation. He led a $550 million portfolio and a global team of 350 engineers, driving the modernization of legacy systems to cloud-based architectures and integrating AI capabilities to serve over 50,000 customers worldwide. Previously, as Vice President of Cloud Engineering at Zededa Inc., Pratap spearheaded the monetization of edge strategy, developing cloud-based controllers for orchestration stacks with a focus on scaling, performance, and system reliability.

In addition, Pratap has made significant contributions to the tech industry: At Cisco Systems he managed IoT products and led the vision for a consolidated cloud-native platform. At Veritas, he oversaw the development of an intelligent unified data and analytics platform. At Avni Networks, he led the creation of a Hybrid Cloud Platform for digital services. Throughout his career, Pratap has consistently transformed complex technical concepts into successful products, built high-performing teams, and balanced technical expertise with business strategy.

Pratap received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Delhi University and certifications from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania’s Global C-Suite Program.

Rajat Bhatnagar

SVP of Business Operations

Rajat Bhatnagar is a software executive with rich experience in everything from early-stage startups to mature, run-rate revenue businesses. He is passionate about enterprise software and market transformation and is adept at introducing disruptive platforms and new business models across strategy, go-to-market, and product teams.

Mr. Bhatnagar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Delhi and an MBA from the Fox School of Business at Temple University.

Karthik Pandian

VP of Engineering

Karthik Pandian has over 20 years of experience as a multi-faceted executive specializing in AI/ML solutions, multi-tenant infrastructure, and product development. With expertise in engineering and technical strategy, he focuses on improving processes, enhancing performance, and driving sustainable growth.

Pandian has led the creation of scalable machine learning services, distributed systems, and cloud migrations while fostering relationships with stakeholders across all levels, from customers to C-suite leaders.

Throughout his career, Pandian has driven innovation at leading organizations. At Esurance, he led engineering for the $2B online auto insurance company, launching six new product lines over a decade. At Rubicon, he guided the company from Series D funding to a successful IPO as head of product and engineering. At AWS, he managed Mobile Messaging services across 20 regions, handling 10 billion API calls daily, and built the ML infrastructure for SageMaker in over 30 regions.

Pandian holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo and executive certifications from Stanford University.

Yuan Fang

VP of Product

Yuan Fang has 25+ years of experience in product management, development, marketing, and business development in software and SaaS solutions.

Before joining HG Insights, Fang served as Senior Director of Product Management at SolarWinds, where he led the product team that launched and scaled SolarWinds Observability SaaS solution. Prior to SolarWinds, Fang held several product leadership positions—at Pulse Secure, Citrix, Polycom, and Motorola—where he led cross-functional teams in launching new products and solutions that empowered customers and delivered growth across North American and international markets.

Fang holds a Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the University of British Columbia in Canada and an EMBA from the China Europe International Business School.

Shekar Hariharan

SVP of Marketing

Shekar is a seasoned marketing leader with a proven track record of scaling companies and driving significant growth. He has led marketing at four startups, two of which achieved successful exits totaling over $1.1 billion. With deep expertise in Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and Growth, Shekar has consistently built high-performing marketing functions that accelerate revenue and market leadership.

Most recently, Shekar served as CMO at Flosum, where he helped the bootstrapped company triple its ARR. Prior to that, he led marketing at Jitterbit and WSO2, driving 30-40% year-over-year growth and positioning Jitterbit as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for four consecutive years. Earlier in his career, he spent 15 years at Oracle, where he held key roles in Quality Engineering, Product Management, and Partner Marketing, contributing to the growth of a nine-digit SaaS business and an expansive partner ecosystem.

Outside of work, Shekar lives in Foster City, CA, with his wife, who runs her own VC fund, Foster Ventures, and their 2 children. An avid sports and outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys cricket, golf, and hiking, as well as mentoring startup founders and spending quality time with his family over movie nights.

Claudia Flores

With over 15 years of experience dedicated to HR leadership along with expertise in the B2B SaaS space, Claudia Flores has a passion for shaping workplaces where every individual thrives and contributes to a company’s collective success.

Her expertise spans the entire HR spectrum — from talent acquisition, performance management, and career development to payroll and benefits administration. Flores excels at identifying and nurturing talent, crafting innovative strategies that drive organizational growth, and fostering cultures of inclusion and belonging. From successfully building up an HR function from the ground up to designing comprehensive global employee development programs, Flores has led initiatives that not only attract top-tier talent but also retain and develop them for long-term success.

At HG Insights, Flores is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of HG’s Global People & Culture strategy in support of our overall mission, vision, business strategy, and core values overseeing and directing HR functions, including employee talent management, change management, organizational performance management, employee engagement, training, learning and development, benefits, succession planning, internal communications, and culture initiatives. Flores partners closely with the executive leadership team to ensure the business is aligned with the overall talent strategy.

Flores received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
